Susi Rose is the vision and energy behind Susi Rose Designs. Starting her own retail furniture and fashion business 1996 in Germany lead her to become an Interior designer and Realtor when she moved to Naples Florida. She sees her work as the creation of breathing life into home spaces – where we can relax, refresh our spirits and return to the essence of who we are and what is truly important.

What is my favorite part about being a designer?

I love curating and hunting for the perfect pieces for a project. Of course there are many guidelines and “rules” of design but I love that there is something so intuitive and exciting about finding a piece and knowing in your gut that it is perfect. That feeling never gets old. I try to take an intuitive, passionate approach to my interiors – they are an expression of who I am.

At the heart of my brand is a great quote from Oscar Wilde: “Be yourself, everybody else is already taken”. I believe spaces are extensions of the people who occupy them—enigmatic, layered, and full of possibility. It is my job to explore these possibilities with my clients by pushing the boundaries; getting creative and doing something a little unexpected. The goal is to make my clients homes as distinctive as they are.

I am Inspired by

The contrast of highly refined beauty against rugged, organic materials and textures. The mountains of the Alps, the diamonds of sunlight on the surface of the water. Classical Music and Artwork. The moon. Beautiful Gardens. The chemistry of all this mixed with the personalities of my clients — it’s an exquisite combination.

My Sanctuary is

Nature! I love the outdoors and all the sights, sounds, and smells that come with it. My sanctuary is a quiet place on the Beach, the Naples Sunsets, a crisp breeze, and the sun shining down on me. A place where the outside comes inside, where a candle burns in the early dawn as I do my daily writing. It’s a place where I can center, be at ease, and create with abandon.

My secret Obsession

Where do I begin? Forests. Crystals of any form. Fine China and Silverware. Beautiful pens and blank notebooks. Champagne. Boxes. Rare Parfum. Piles of books. Dark Chocolate. Fresh beautiful white linens. Travel to ancient remote places. I am a nester by nature, so I want my space orderly, harmonious and soothing.
